Junior Pennant Team starts season with a win
Posted on: 14 October
On Sunday the Yarra Yarra Eagles Junior Pennant team hosted Royal Melbourne at Yarra Yarra in round 1. In windy conditions our lead off pair of David Zhu and Edward Chen got off to a good start edging in front their opponents who were both playing off better than scratch. By the ninth they were both well in front with David (James Murto on his bag) finally closing out his match seven and six on the twelfth. Edward, under the guidance of Johnny Mustac, won on the next hole finishing six and five. The other four matches were all in the balance after nine. Next to finish was Jaidon Herath, another great result winning seven and five with Ezy helping him out. Our Captain for the day was James Andrews who stayed strong to finally win three and two in a tough match with Flynn giving him plenty of support. Back from a broken wrist, Oscar Hu played well to also win three and two with Corey Wakeman giving him plenty of advice. In the only match that went all the way, Oliver Drury secured the final win, one up on the eighteenth with best mate Jack Susic keeping him loose under pressure. A great effort from everyone and a big thanks to all the caddies.
